Pollster Scott Rasmussen of Rasmussen Reports addresses a new Gallup poll analyzing Americans’ opinions on gun control laws. Support for gun control laws in 2009 is at an all time low with only 39% of Americans in favor of stricter gun control laws and 50% actively opposing stricter gun control laws. Moreover, only 28% of American favor a ban on handguns and only 44% say that laws concerning arms sales should be more strict, down five points from last year.

Pollster Scott Rasmussen of Rasmussen Reports addresses a new poll analyzing Americans’ opinions on increased gun and ammo consumption. Scott Rasmussen, founder and president of Rasmussen Reports, joins Ginny Simone on The Daily News to discuss a recent poll reflecting the reasons behind rising gun and ammunition sales across the country. Fifty-seven percent of Americans attribute the upswing to fear that the Obama administration will restrict their gun freedoms, while only a minority considers crime to be the primary motivating factor. Rasmussen cites a widespread feeling that the government is willing to intervene in all levels of American life.
